North Korea accuses South Korea of flying drones to its capital and threatens to attack next time

SEOUL, South Korea (AP) — North Korea has accused rival South Korea of flying drones to its capital to drop anti-North Korean propaganda leaflets and threatened to respond with force if such flights occur again.

North Korea’s Foreign Ministry said in a statement Friday that South Korean drones were detected in the night skies of Pyongyang on Oct. 3 and Wednesday and Thursday this week.

The ministry accused the South of violating North Korea’s “sacred” sovereignty and threatening its security, and said its forces will prepare “all means of attack” and respond without warning if South Korean drones are detected in its territory again.

The pressure cooker continues to build up between North and South Korea lately. The National Defense Commission of North Korea announced on October 9th that they intended to Cut ALL TRANSPORT LINES with the South, and to begin a Major Project to Fortify these Areas along the Border.

 
North Korea blows up parts of inter-Korean road on its side of border, South says

SEOUL, South Korea — North Korea has blown up sections of an inter-Korean road on its side of the heavily militarized border between the two Koreas, South Korea’s Joint Chiefs of Staff said Tuesday.

At around midday, some parts of the road north of the military demarcation line dividing the countries were blown up, the Joint Chiefs of Staff said in a message sent to media.

Tensions on the Korean Peninsula have been increasing amid an escalating war of words after the North accused its rival of sending drones over the country’s capital, Pyongyang.

North Korea said Friday that the drones had scattered a “huge number” of anti-North leaflets over the city, in what it called political and military provocation that could lead to armed conflict.
