New York Correctional Officers Beat Prisoner to Death

Bodycam footage of New York State prison guards at Marcy Correctional Facility fatally beating a handcuffed prisoner was released on Friday.

Robert Brooks, 43, who has been in prison since 2017 and serving a 12-year sentence for assaulting his girlfriend, was beaten by New York State prison guards on December 9. He died one day after the beating.

The New York Attorney General’s office released the graphic footage amid an investigation into the fatal beating.

The footage shows officers kicking and punching Brooks.

This is sad, I hope he was saved and is with Jesus now.

It is terribly sad. I couldn’t watch it but did see a still image of him in a green shirt and handcuffed. That gang of guards was sadistic.

The attacks on the guards are far, far, far more frequent and few seem to know or care about it. We frequently pray for the police and firefighters and so we should but praying for corrections officers seems often completely forgotten.

Im not sure what more needs to be seen to conclude the officers will face serious charges.

It would not matter what started it, once he is cuffed, and the beating continues, nothing can justify these corrupt and sadistic officers.

I haven't looked at the details that are available, partly because I'd like to get the whole story at once. The officers may be corrupt and sadistic, but I don't have the information with which to make that judgment.

Im normally like you in waiting for all the facts. I learned in the military when someone called me and told me of a major event that happened, such as Marines breaking the law, the first reports were seldom accurate.

I avoided watching any of the videos for this incident, but finally watched this morning. The visual evidence is very conclusive in this case.

I don't plan to watch it but I would suggest that it "appears" to be very conclusive.

In the video that showed a police officer after subduing an addict, some people saw police brutality when they watched that video, I saw officers doing their job.

However you process the information or not look at available info is certainly your call, and I truly hope there can possibly be an explanation for the officers behaviors. Im almost always on the side of law enforcement officers, or even prison guards, because they have to deal with scumbags on a regular basis.

I dont think Harry Houdini could escape the charges soon to follow.

It would be interesting and perhaps informative to know if this particular prisoner had sent a number of guards to the hospital previously. Wouldn't justify wrong behavior but it would add to the facts of the case.
