Mystery Drones Swarmed a U.S. Military Base for 17 Days. The Pentagon Is Stumped.

U.S. Air Force Gen. Mark Kelly wasn’t sure what to make of reports that a suspicious fleet of unidentified aircraft had been flying over Langley Air Force Base on Virginia’s shoreline.

Kelly, a decorated senior commander at the base, got on a squadron rooftop to see for himself. He joined a handful of other officers responsible for a clutch of the nation’s most advanced jet fighters, including F-22 Raptors.

For several nights, military personnel had reported a mysterious breach of restricted airspace over a stretch of land that has one of the largest concentrations of national-security facilities in the U.S. The show usually starts 45 minutes to an hour after sunset, another senior leader told Kelly.

The first drone arrived shortly. Kelly, a career fighter pilot, estimated it was roughly 20 feet long and flying at more than 100 miles an hour, at an altitude of roughly 3,000 to 4,000 feet. Other drones followed, one by one, sounding in the distance like a parade of lawn mowers.

For several nights, drones had been flying over Langley Air Force Base in Virginia, alarming military personnel, including U.S. Air Force Gen. Mark Kelly. These drones, some measuring up to 20 feet and traveling over 100 miles per hour, regularly breached restricted airspace near sensitive military installations, including the base of Navy SEAL Team 6, as well as the world's largest naval port.

Reports reached President Biden, sparking 2 weeks of White House discussions involving agencies like the FBI, Pentagon, and defense experts. Officials suspected foreign involvement, possibly Russia or China, although nothing will be done as they can’t confirm the source from which they came.

Military options to counter the drones were limited by US 🇺🇸 laws preventing the shooting down of non-threatening aircraft over U.S. soil. This highlighted the challenge of dealing with drones domestically versus abroad, where the military has greater flexibility in other countries.

Federal officials were already concerned after drones were detected over a nuclear weapons test site in Nevada in October 2023.

The drones at Langley often flew in coordinated formations, vanishing by midnight, frustrating attempts to track or capture them. Suggestions ranged from electronic jamming to shooting nets, but no clear solution emerged.

In one case, a student named Fengyun Shi was caught photographing Navy vessels with a drone near Langley, but he was not conclusively linked to the larger swarm. Though convicted under espionage laws, Shi's case didn’t resolve the broader mystery of the drone incursions.

Despite advanced surveillance methods, the drone operators remain unidentified and anonymous, and concerns grow about future aerial threats to U.S. security, with recent sightings near Edwards Air Force Base in California as well.

There have been millions of people praying for this country. Why is it still going down hill? What percentage of the alleged Christian population takes Jesus to work with them?

Lord raise up an Army!
There have been times where God's people have tried interceding such as Jeremiah to save Israel and God had advised that he would still allow his judgement to precede as their sins were too great or heinous.

Despite the pronounced judgements he still showed mercy so don't give up

It's actually pretty amazing that the US hasn't fallen already.
Kind of makes you wander if the US is still standing despite what they are doing, just how bad was Sodom and Gomorrah

On this board alone, there are over ten Christians in the United States :)

32 And he said, Oh let not the Lord be angry, and I will speak yet but this once: Peradventure ten shall be found there. And he said, I will not destroy it for ten's sake.
Genesis 18:32, KJV

14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
2 Chronicles 7:14, KJV

  :amen: :amen: :thankyou: :thankyou:

Why didn’t we shoot them down? That’s the bigger question!

My former husband shot a small aircraft that flew into restricted airspace at Homestead AFB (several decades ago)
If he hadn't have, he would have been Court-Martialed for failing to carry out his orders :tap:

Turned out it was his Platoon Commander, who was flying his private plane. Fortunately, didn't crash or get hurt.
Three .45 holes in the plane

IDK what they did to the LT for violating restricted air space.

Maybe USSR reconnaissance and probing. Launch platform in Cuba, Haiti, or? Or submarine/small craft? What happened to that tanker and sub from awhile back? hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Methinks prelude to them invading the land of unwalled villages (Ezekiel 38-39 . . .

Even if they were caught off-guard the first night, there's no excuse for the next night, nor for allowing these overflights :tap:

This is just idiotic. How would we know a drone is threatening or not unless it does something and by then it would be too late. Why are we assuming that unknown drones aren’t threatening? It should be the other way around. God help us.

Unless it's the US, Israel, and/or UK practicing/training with drones, given the little I have read, I'd assume they're doing something threatening, like gathering various types of intelligence during these overflights, ascertaining local weather and geographical conditions, fine-tuning optimum fuel and payload, and probing to see what, if anything, the US will do to them for flying in restricted airspace, and/or defending against military drone attack.

If the drones aren't known friendlies, nefarious intentions and probably doing the same thing the balloons were doing

If an unidentified aircraft flies into a restricted military zone and additionally refuses to identify itself, it is likely to be shot down. Why not a drone? Especially given that they're coming in a series.

Maybe the Pentagon leadership can't do that until they are able to identify its proper pronouns.

EXCLUSIVE: Drone swarms targeting US military bases are operated by 'mother ship' UFO, claims top Pentagon official

A retired, senior Pentagon official has confirmed that UFO 'mother ships' were spotted 'releasing swarms of smaller craft' — adding further mystery to the still-unexplained intrusions over multiple US military bases.

His statements come amid the release of 50 pages of Air Force records related to provocative 'drone' incursions, that one general calls 'Close Encounters at Langley.'

'In some cases "mother ships" have been reported,' according to Mellon, who also managed security and information operations for part of his time at the Pentagon.
These 'mother ships,' Mellon clarified, were 'extremely fast larger vehicles that have been observed collecting or releasing swarm of smaller craft.'
