Joint Base San Antonio - Lackland security officials returned fire on multiple active shooters early Saturday morning. Shooters reportedly attempted to enter through the main gate at the JBSA-Chapman Training Annex when the incident happened, according to a story from KSAT.

The 502d Air Base Wing Public Affairs with Joint Base San Antonio - Lackland confirmed there is no threat at this time to the installation following an early morning shooting at the main gates. Officials also reported there were no injuries as a result of the incident.

An investigation continues after multiple shooters targeted Air Force Security personnel working the entrance gate to the JBSA-Chapman Training Annex, located at RayEllison Boulevard and Medina Base Road, according to preliminary information from the San Antonio Police Department.
Just before 5 a.m. Saturday, August 17,
A Sedan stopped on Median Base Road, east of the same entrance gate to the Chapman Training Annex, and shots were fired at the Air Force Security personnel a second time. Additional security was present at the time of the second shooting and returned fire toward the vehicle, according to SAPD.Security personnel said they heard several shots fired, as well as the fired rounds that went past them. Following the incident, security personnel added more armed guards as a precaution, SAPD reported.
