This is what's wrong with America. A McDonalds manager asks a teenage employee to take out the trash, the employee refused, so the manager told the employee to clock out for the day. The teens mother goes to the store and attacks the manager, who then shoots the mother. All three people handled the situation wrong. What could have been a good teaching experience for the teen on how to behave at the workplace was ruined by the mother who wrongly supported her child being insubordinate to her employer. The mother resorts to violence and attacks the store manager. The store manager then shoots the mother. The manager may be within her rights if she was legally allowed to have a gun and felt her life was in danger.

I blame a lot of stuff for these actions. But the number one issue is the lack of respect shown to any authority or others in today's world. Another big issue is the lack of civility in handling conflicts. The left promotes this behavior by allowing criminals to go free and sponsoring civil unrest.

The charges are calling it an unlawful use of a firearm. At least in some states it would be a justified use of a firearm. By my way of thinking it was, but we may not have the whole/accurate story from the article.

It is astonishing how so many young people not only lack respect for authority, but that their parents are role modeling that same behavior which has infected their children …
It’s gotten so out of hand… some people will blatantly refuse to follow a command by a police officer, hit their teachers , purposely try to rial up another , have over the top attitudes, and such behavior, steal and justify it ( smash and grabs are just insanity)

This ‘it’s all about me” mindset specifically infecting young people has created a monster.. when “ me “ is the main focus , there’s no humility nor caring for , concern about , sacrificing for , another person.

Yes salt and light !! …. My generation would just not do most of what young people do these days regarding authority.. it’s shocking but through the prophetic lens , shouldn’t be.

Respect has to be earned. Especially these days, when parents don't instill the value of respect for authority, starting with themselves as the leaders in the family. There's various types of authority, including positional. When used fairly and consistently, the general respect for said authority extends to most people in those positions. When abused or applied incompetently or inconsistently, distrust and rebellion are responses to everyone in said positions of authority.

This is why it was always ma'am, sir, please, thank you, etc. on the street until and unless safety made that impossible. It's amazing what a little "Minnesota Nice" does in a place where people have been mistreated their whole lives by authority and have absolutely no liking or respect for law enforcement. Someone has to be the adult to get stuff to change, even if it's one person at a time. Foot patrol used for relationship and trust-building, demonstrating a better way, and showing the community a little love, instead of just driving by and ignoring our neighbors' needs and feelings.

That the Manager didn't or wasn't able to de-escalate and/or defuse the situation with the employee's parent is horrible. The Manager should have been the adult in that situation. That's part of the job and the kind of stuff that used to be taught at Hamburger U. I wonder what they're teaching there now Or I wonder what the whole story is. Some things aren't very PC, and the media always has an agenda(s).
