Luke 17:37

Matthew6:33

Set your face like flint - Isaiah 50:7
Did a Bible study on this and was curious what you guys think the meaning of the last verse is.

Luke 17:37 NASB95 — And answering they said to Him, “Where, Lord?” And He said to them, “Where the body is, there also the vultures will be gathered.”

It sounds like some are taken at the second coming to judgement as the prior verses are talking about judgement and vultures/carrion birds are a symbol of judgement. It sounds like being taken at that point is not a good thing.

Found this clip and I think I agree with Andy Woods that it is at the 2nd coming when unbelievers will be moved to judgement.

Also the whole eagles argument. As versions like KJV translate it as eagles instead of vultures. Well verses like Job 39:30, Matt 24:28, and Prov 30:17 show eagles as a bird that preys on the dead in judgement. Could also be a vulture that looks like an eagle.

[Job 39:27-30 KJV] 27 Doth the eagle mount up at thy command, and make her nest on high? 28 She dwelleth and abideth on the rock, upon the crag of the rock, and the strong place. 29 From thence she seeketh the prey, [and] her eyes behold afar off. 30 Her young ones also suck up blood: and where the slain [are], there [is] she.

[Mat 24:28 KJV] 28 For wheresoever the carcase is, there will the eagles be gathered together.

[Pro 30:17 KJV] 17 The eye [that] mocketh at [his] father, and despiseth to obey [his] mother, the ravens of the valley shall pick it out, and the young eagles shall eat it.
