L.A. County Land-Grab Fears Ignite: “They’re Going to Turn Altadena Into One Big Apartment Complex”

Fears of a land grab have erupted across fire-ravaged areas of Los Angeles County, as local and state officials have already begun discussing plans for “LA 2.0.” One user on X commented, “Tell me this was a planned demolition without telling me this was a planned demolition.”

“They are going to turn Altadena into one gigantic apartment complex,” X user Bay Area State OF Mind said, referring to local officials who want to change zoning in the Altadena area from single-family to multi-family. In other words, some officials want to usher in the construction of apartment buildings and so-called ‘smart cities.’

Altadena (and other areas in L.A. County) could serve as a proof-of-concept for how the Democratic Party transforms single-family neighborhoods into apartment buildings in a world where citizens own nothing and will be happy.

TPTB are trying to do this in the nicest areas of Minneapolis.
When it's been asked/suggested why not demolish crud and already-blighted areas and put the new stuff in, questioners/caring citizens/concerned residents are quickly ushered out.

It's all in the name of "equality," "racial equity," and "more people having access to the lakes."

Looking at planning plats and proposals, what's going to happen is increased population density in those areas is going to overwhelm infrastructure, pollute lakes, streams, and rivers, cause massive flooding, and deny the general public access to the lakes everyone has access to now. Meanwhile, there are blighted areas, in which no one is living, with lots of open and green space, heavy-duty infrastructure, and close to other beautiful lakes, streams, and rivers, which would be ideal for the proposed higher density housing and could support it and the related commercial development needed, and do it both without polluting AND cleaning up/clearing out abandoned huge industrial sites.

It's the same thing when people ask about using closed industrial sites with heavy-duty infrastructure, and controlled access to set up modern, safe, secure homeless encampment sites and shelter facilities with utilities, social services, medical, mental health, substance abuse treatment/detox, security, HEAT, etc.
