Jordan's King Abdullah: Israel's 'brutal' war creates generation of Gaza orphans

Jordan's King Abdullah said on Monday that Israel had created a whole generation of orphans with its "brutal" war in Gaza, where he said over 30,000 people, mostly women and children, had been killed or were missing as a result of the conflict.

In remarks at the Kigali Genocide Memorial in Rwanda, where the monarch spoke of "unspeakable crimes" during that African conflict, Abdullah said a lesson to be drawn was that Israel's "indiscriminate aggression" in Gaza would never guarantee its security. His remarks were carried on state media following a statement by the royal palace.


"More children have died in Gaza than in all other conflicts around the world this past year. Of those who have survived, many have lost one or both parents, an entire generation of orphans," he said.

"How can indiscriminate aggression and shelling bring peace? How can they guarantee security when they are built on hatred?" Abdullah said of Israel's war against the terrorist group Hamas.

Some have discounted the Psalm 83 war because of Jordan and Egypt being in good standing with Israel.
It's apparent that Jordan is not in support of Israel and Egypt is tipping the scale whether they are in support of Israel.

Looks like Jordan and Egypt just may be off the discounted reasoning for this to not result in the Psalm 83 war.

Interesting, but Arab leaders do tend to say one thing in public for their population's consumption and another thing in private. But I have been disappointed with Abdullah lately. Of course, neither Jordan nor Egypt will take any Gazan refugees...

I feel bad for the Multinational Forces and Observers (MFO) in the Sinai (Camp David Accords). Ring-side seats, it's only a matter of time before the inevitable "accident" occurs, and by treaty are restricted to specific areas, activities, and keeping peace between Israel and Egypt. Because there are personnel there from several countries, there could be issues if a represented country ends up on the wrong side or declares official neutrality.
