Israel’s population has reached nearly 10 million, according to data released by the Central Bureau of Statistics on Wednesday ahead of the Jewish New Year. The report indicates that 78.6% of the population are Jewish and others (including non-Arab Christians, members of other religions, and those not classified by religion in the Interior Ministry), while 21.4% are Arabs. The figures also include the foreign worker population. The Israeli population grew by approximately 118,000 people over the past year, reflecting a growth rate of 1.2%. In the past year, around 183,000 babies were born in Israel, and about 55,000 people passed away.
