Is There Really a God? By Ken Ham/Jason Lisle

Andy C

Well-known
Long read, with great information to counter the usual arguments about why there cant be a creator/God.

From the Link:

When Christians claim that the God of the Bible created all the basic entities of life and the universe, some will ask what seems to be a logical question: “Who created God?”

God—an Eternal, Uncreated Being?

In our everyday experience, just about everything seems to have a beginning. In fact, the laws of science show that even things which look the same through our lifetime, such as the sun and other stars, are, in reality, running down. The sun is using up its fuel at millions of tons each second—since the sun cannot last forever, it had to have a beginning. The same can be shown to be true for the entire universe.

So when Christians claim that the God of the Bible created all the basic entities of life and the universe, some will ask what seems to be a logical question: “Who created God?”

The very first verse in the Bible declares: “In the beginning God . . . .” There is no attempt in these words to prove the existence of God or imply in any way that Godhad a beginning. In fact, the Bible makes it clear in many places that God is outside time. He is eternal, with no beginning or end. He also knows all things, being infinitely intelligent.

Is it logical, though, to accept the existence of such an eternal being? Can modern science, which has produced our technology of computers, space shuttles, and medical advances, even allow for such a notion?1

What Would We Look For?

What evidence would we expect to find if there really is an infinite God who created all things as the Bible claims? How would we even recognize the hand of such an omnipotent (all-powerful) Creator?

The Bible claims that God knows all things—He is omniscient! Therefore, He is infinitely intelligent. To recognize His handiwork, one would have to know how to recognize the evidence of the works of His intelligence.

No, of course not. We obviously came from nothing, which has no properties, thoughts, space, or causal power. So, there was an unexplained, unaccounted for, totally mysterious singularity that just boomed and blew stuff out into a space that somehow got there while nothing was present. Because ya know, the singularity gave birth to space, but I suppose the dense particle was suspended in... nothing, but was somehow very present and very hot? Some other type of amorphous containment that will never be defined. Then a gazillion years later, lightning struck primordial goop and life started in that murky mess. Add another gazillion years and we were swimming around like little tadpoles and later turned into some hideous being and thought "Ya know what, let's take a stroll through the park!" and somehow defeated our formerly "fit to being" environment, and through mass death and magic modification, we arrived on land! But wait, the pendulum has to swing bipolar! So, after our dissatisfaction with the aforementioned abyss, we or rather this amorphous mechanism that just unconsciously makes changes in a macro enough way we can literally change kind, but anyway, anyway, getting lost in the sauce here. So yes, we were so disenchanted in our deep submergence in that turbid goop, that we dreamed, nay, were pulled toward land and emerged and after more mass species death, while somehow avoiding extinction the whole time, became awestruck with the big things called trees and decided to live in them. And a gazillion later...

And now we are talking about brain chips, AI robotic takeovers, former monkeys (so they say) asserting that they have rights, chicken sandwich wars, who peed on Donald Trump, and Joe Biden's vanilla pudding. Because the secular world makes so much sense. *maisey*
