Is Christianity Exclusive?

Goodboy

Just waiting for the Rapture at this point!
Is Christianity Exclusive?

That depends on how you are defining and are using the word exclusive.

Here is the definition of exclude in Webster’s Dictionary
exclude
1a: to prevent or restrict the entrance of
1b: to bar from participation, consideration, or inclusion
2: to expel or bar especially from a place or position previously occupied

If we are speaking of a fact, then it must be exclusive or it would not be a fact. Meaning gravity is a fact. However, we are not excluding anyone from participating in gravity. Such is true with Christianity. It is a fact or truth so in that sense it is exclusive, however there is nothing at all preventing anyone from participating in it, so it is not exclusive in that sense.

In fact, Christianity is the only religion that is not exclusive. Why, because there is nothing you have to do or place you have to be to become a Christian. There is absolutely no one on earth that is restricted from being a Christian. It is a free gift fully available to absolutely everyone. In fact, God wants everyone to become a Christian, so how can that be exclusive?

1 Timothy 2 2:3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour;
1 Timothy 2 2:4 Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.

Interesting viewpoint!

The Gospel is exclusive, in that faith in Jesus Christ, as Lord (God) and Savior, is the only way to Heaven and God The Father.
Therefore, churches, which faithfully preach and teach The Gospel, are exclusive to other doctrines, dogmas, ideas, faiths, etc.
Carried further, exclusivity, as illustrated by the five solas, also shows works are not necessary for Salvation, the glory belongs to God alone, there is no other mediator aside from Jesus Christ needed (examples, Pope or co-redemtrix), etc.

Part of the American Heritage Dictionary definition of 'Exclusive'
adjective Excluding or tending to exclude.
adjective Not allowing something else; incompatible.
adjective Not divided or shared with others.
adjective Not accompanied by others; single or sole.
adjective Complete; undivided.

16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
John 3:16-18, KJV

6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
John 14:6, KJV

5 Solas (aka 5 Solae)
Sola Scriptura (by Scripture alone)
Solus Christus (by Christ alone)
Sola Fide (by faith alone)
Sola Gratia (by grace alone)
Soli Deo Gratia (to God alone be the glory)

Not sure what your point is with what you posted? 🤔

My point is yes because The Gospel is a FACT it excludes everything that contradicts it. However, it does not at all exclude who can be saved as other religions do. This was my point, I'm not sure what your is? 🤔

I believe hers was the same as yours, brother. To me she was just adding another dimension to what you wrote. There IS only ONE way to God and that is through Jesus Christ. That is as exclusive as you can get!

But the invitation into that exclusive relationship is as inclusive as you can get-- namely "whosoever". Whosoever believes. Thus anyone who wants to is included in the invitation to believe in Jesus. Inclusive. But only those who actually choose to believe are included in the result of believing in Jesus. Exclusive.
