Illegal immigrants will soon be taking care of vulnerable, elderly, and disabled Minnesotans...

The Minnesota Department of Human Services (DHS) is offering grants to help “New Americans” staff long-term care facilities across the state. State government defines a “New American” as “an individual born abroad and the individual’s children, irrespective of immigration status.”

As such, people who entered the United States illegally could eventually become authorized to take care of vulnerable, elderly, and disabled Minnesotans.

I can’t imagine leaving the care of my (were they still around) aging relatives or anyone else that needed care in the hands of someone who’s already broken the law by coming here ILLEGALLY! They are letting them in without checking into anything about them and if they are hooked up with the cartels, who knows what’s going on with that!

Besides, how are they going to get SSN’s? Never mind, that was a dumb question! Of course they’ll give them one, which will give them citizenship without lifting a finger. 😡😡

I take comfort in knowing that one day, all those who allowed this craziness to happen will answer to Holy God. What I don’t get is - do they think they’ll get past Him? Or are they so deluded to think that He doesn’t exist or they can talk/buy their way out? I don’t wish their eternal destination on them…..that future is unimaginably awful. I pray they change their hearts and minds before it’s too late!

A lot of migrants/illegal immigrants have been providing home health services for a long time here. Some work for agencies and organizations, but a lot work for cash under the table. Wages for home health workers is abysmally low, and benefits are worse. Some care facilities are good places to work (or receive care), and others are terrible.

The place my Mom was had extremely low turnover and highly skilled caregivers. They were paid well by industry standards, had decent benefits, and were treated well by the facility. IDK if any of the staff were illegal, but there were a lot of caregivers from other countries working there, including muslims, and sometimes language differences created interesting conversations. Mom consistently got great care, even though her stay was pretty much the duration of the pandemic.
