Catholic Church officials in Jerusalem claimed on Saturday that Israeli forces in Gaza had intentionally targeted and murdered local Christians. The IDF Spokesperson told Israel Today this is patently false.
In its statement, the Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem reported that “a sniper of the IDF murdered two Christian women inside the Holy Family Parish in Gaza, where the majority of Christian families has taken refuge since the start of the war.”
It identified the victims as a woman named Nahida and her daughter, Samar. According to the patriarch, Israeli troops then opened fire on other Christians inside the compound, wounding seven.
Church officials insisted there were no belligerents inside the compound, and that the victims were “shot in cold blood.”
