The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) reportedly rescued a hostage overnight Sunday into Monday — Private Ori Megidish, a female soldier who had been at an observation post that was attacked by Palestinian Hamas terrorists on October 7.

The rescue of the IDF soldier suggests that Israel may have other options — and that a ground invasion might help the release of hostages, rather than hampering it, as some critics have suggested recently.

Do they mount such rescue operations for male Soldiers held hostage? Or did this rescue just receive a lot of attention because the Soldier is female? I'm reminded of the rescue operation for PFC Jessica Lynch.


I wonder if it's possible to exorcise an entire organization, or if it has to be done one person at a time.

I imagine they'll rescue every hostage that they can. This one just happened to be female... at least that's the way I hope it is...

On my scale, every individual IDF soldier, sailor, or airman is worth more than 40,000 hamas terrorists. It would be nice though if some of those hamas assets found Christ while hiding out in their tunnel system.

I'm reminded of the rescue operation for PFC Jessica Lynch.

She was always, and spoke out about it, embarrassed by the exaggerated story of how she was captured, and what happened in captivity. She is a strong woman!
