Hypocrites & Pharisees

Goodboy

Just waiting for the Rapture at this point!
Hypocrites & Pharisees

Matthew 23:27 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye are like unto whited sepulchres, which indeed appear beautiful outward, but are within full of dead men's bones, and of all uncleanness.
Matthew 23:28 Even so ye also outwardly appear righteous unto men, but within ye are full of hypocrisy and iniquity.

The verses above show that you CAN NOT tell from the outside (by works) what is in someone’s heart. How then can we judge (even ourselves) by what (works) we do? We do know our own heart though and that we can judge, but not our works.

Before you were saved you sinned.
After you were saved you still sin.
Oh but you say, “Not the sins I did before!”
That does not matter.

So have you in your righteousness decided which sins are OK or not so bad?
James 2:10 “For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.”

Matthew 5:27 “Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not commit adultery.”
Matthew 5:28 “But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.”

You say “Oh but I don’t sin intentionally anymore”
I beg to differ!
Is there someone or something that is forcing you to sin?

You say “I have stopped all my sinning to the best of my ability; I can not help some sins.”
Again, I beg to differ!
If you knew that watching pornography would instantly kill you would you still do it?
If you knew that cursing someone out that cuts you off on the highway would instantly kill you would you still do it?
When there is someone that needs help and you decide against it, that’s a sin.

We do not want to admit that we continually intentionally sin.
We think we are so much better than others because we may sin less.

Paul understood this, as per the verses below.
Romans 7:14 For we know that the law is spiritual: but I am carnal, sold under sin.
Romans 7:15 For that which I do I allow not: for what I would, that do I not; but what I hate, that do I.
Romans 7:16 If then I do that which I would not, I consent unto the law that it is good.
Romans 7:17 Now then it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me.
Romans 7:18 For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not.
Romans 7:19 For the good that I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do.
Romans 7:20 Now if I do that I would not, it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me.
Romans 7:21 I find then a law, that, when I would do good, evil is present with me.
Romans 7:22 For I delight in the law of God after the inward man:
Romans 7:23 But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members.
Romans 7:24 O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death?
Romans 7:25 I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin.

So as long as you don’t do this or that you are saved?

Or…… Is it faith in Jesus Christ alone that saves you?
