Huckabee: Annexing Judea and Samaria ‘of course’ a possibility

Mike Huckabee, whom US President-elect Donald Trump nominated on Tuesday to ambassador to the Jewish state, told Israel’s Army Radio in his first interview since the announcement that “of course” the annexation of Judea and Samaria is a possibility under a second Trump White House.

While Huckabee said that he won’t be the one to “make the policy” but rather will “carry out the policy of the president,” he noted that the president-elect “already demonstrated in his first term that there’s never been an American president that has been more helpful in securing an understanding of the sovereignty of Israel.”

Huckabee listed Trump’s first-term accomplishments on behalf of Israel, from moving the US embassy to Jerusalem to recognizing the Golan Heights as Israeli territory.

Donald Trump’s incoming cabinet features a number of interesting figures, people who most would never consider for the positions to which they are being nominated. Chief among them is Pete Hegseth, who has been tapped as America’s next secretary of defense, and who’s on record as anticipating the fulfillment of biblical prophecy in Jerusalem.

Hegseth is an unapologetic Bible-believing Christian. At a 2018 event hosted by the religious Israeli news outlet Arutz 7, Hegseth spoke about the prophesied reestablishment of the Temple in Jerusalem.

“When you stand [in jerusalem], you cannot help but behold the miracle before you,” said America’s next defense chief. “It got me thinking about another miracle I hope all of you don’t see as too far away. …there’s no reason why the miracle of the reestablishment of the Temple on the Temple Mount is not possible. I don’t know how it would happen, you don’t know how it would happen, but I know that it could happen, that’s all I know.”

The Babylon Bee has a podcast that I listened to this morning. They are super pumped about Pete Hegseth and shared part of an interview they had with him a few years ago. (Of course the Bee had to roast him too, and they did an interview with one of their attorneys who is in their lawsuit against humorless Gavin in CA who wants to censor them. They roasted him too. He stood up to it well, but they did have to advise him to leave the humor to them.)
