Hollywood Rocked by Amazon-Backed AI Tool, Showrunner, that Allows Viewers to Create Their Own Shows

Tall Timbers

Imperfect but forgiven

Filmmakers, educators, and other entertainment industry professionals are reacting in alarm at a new Amazon-backed tool that will allow viewers to create their own TV shows using an artificial intelligence system called Showrunner.

Fable, a company backed by Amazon, is touting Showrunner as the “Netflix of AI,” and allows users to create their own animated series by using text prompts.

Users can guide the generative AI system to create characters, write dialog, create voice work, and even add a musical score, with the AI system handling the works.

I suspect that it won't be long before the film industry is turned on its head. About the only thing that AI would struggle with is creating a compelling story that can keep one riveted to their seats. So, Hollywood story writers might be the last to keep their jobs but just about everything else can be managed between AI and whoever is creating the film. Fictional AI characters may become tomorrow's Stars of cinema. Humans won't be able to compete no matter how much plastic surgery they endure.

AI is taking over which is not a good thing. People will be losing their jobs. This world is crazy and evil. The devil has evil in his name. One of these days the :diablo:devil will be put in his place the :diablo:lake of fire. His sin is pride wanting to be like God it will never happen.

My Dad would have lost gigs to AI. It's bad enough he lost gigs to synthesizers :(
Fortunately, he played in the orchestra.

Symphony orchestra, ballet, opera, etc. performances are still in-person, so not all the classical performance jobs are gone. Eventually, though, AI-enabled robots, holograms, or VR?

A lot of people are going to lose jobs. Hopefully new jobs will get created.

In an HR group there was a poll about AI in various jobs/positions, and the majority of responders said AI was nowhere near ready to be helpful or replace anyone at this point. Much of the info returned is wrong. It seems to make up answers at times. My own company has developed a chat bot for the most basic questions, but I don't see it able to replace my team anytime soon.

The 4th industrial revolution (biometrics, AI, automation) seems to be a natural outgrowth of the 3rd industrial revolution (mechanical technologies replaced by digital--age of information). I remember doing research in 2018 about this major transition. I believe at that time the most noticeable issue was in relation to robotics and how automation would replace or affect many job sectors in the not too distant future. Since then we have had two presidential campaigns in the USA. Neither of which identified addressing how to look at the 4th Industrial Revolution's impact on society. Or governments taking administrative strategy for such a transition. Which I did find odd given how fast things are changing. But it is good to hear that although things are moving fast, there ware a lot of things than are no where near being completely replaced by AI. Amen. :)

As we approach this eventual crossroads, it would seem to be somewhat a reasonable marker of an age where God might step in. Unchecked, transgendering worldwide would result in society so riddled with abnormality, it could hardly be similar to the human race prior that had attributes of general revelation as God had intended. When it gets too far off the beaten path approximating what general revelation informs about God (per Roman's one), there would seem to be a point we get to that would become too unreocognizeable. A condition AI would also seem to created as well.

As these themes increase and crowd out what is plain and evident under general revelation affirmed by God, it would seem we cross over some line where reality takes humanity to the reaping of thousands of years of sin that would render humanity unrecognizeable. Where that line is, I suppose God would only know. But we certainly see it on the horizon. Because of our creators love and care for His creation, it would seem that when something that obviously threatening to His organic created order emerges to the degree it would seem to soon have, that that would earmark a time where God would not permit the folly of such a civilazation realization. Because what would be the point of such a broken social order to continue? In that sense it would seem that being alive at the time of the eve of the 4th Industrial Revolution, is likely also a heads up of something like the rapture. For even in this sense (a time when the cycles of sin override generic clarity upon what general revelation can provide civilization), if there were a divine intelligence, He would not see fit to just let it endlessly erode by its own reaping of what it has sown cycle.

Not that we need a heads up like that...lol. We can see it on several fronts. Amen. The middle east, how evil has increased. A love for self at profound unprecidented levels etc. But for the believer, it is awesome to know that indeed there is a loving and caring Father of creation that would not allow His creation to break forth into some Frankenstien age and not find initiative to intervene. Amen.
