Hilton Hotels: Hotel Behind DHS Room Cancellations Has ‘Apologized’

Well-known
Hilton Hotels used a late afternoon X post on Monday to announce the hotel accused of denying rooms to DHS officers is independently owned and has “apologized for the actions of their team.”

Hilton Newsroom posted:

In a follow-up post they added, “[The hotel has] taken immediate action to resolve this matter. Hilton’s position is clear: Our properties are open to everyone and we do not tolerate any form of discrimination.”

On Monday morning, Breitbart News reported DHS’s allegations that Hilton Hotels were denying rooms to Department of Homeland Security officers in the Minneapolis area. Hilton Hotels responded to the DHS by saying the hotel in question was independently owned.

Despite the Statements, That Minnesota Hilton Is Still Banning DHS and ICE Agents

Everpeak Hospitality, the company that owns this Hilton franchise, also issued a statement that said, "Everpeak Hospitality has moved swiftly to address this matter as it was inconsistent with our policy of being a welcoming place for all. We are in touch with the impacted guests to ensure they are accommodated. We do not discriminate against individuals or agencies and apologize to those impacted. We are committed to welcoming all guests and operating in accordance with brand standards, applicable laws, and our role as a professional hospitality provider."

As our Matt Vespa pointed out, that particular location, the Hampton Inn Lakeville near Minneapolis, was bought last year for $15 million, and the LLC is owned by four Indian partners — Parmjit Singh, Amanpreet Hundal, Karandeep Nagra, and Mohinderjeet Kaur.

Nick Sortor visited the location and confirmed that, despite Hilton's statement, the hotel isn't changing its policy.

MN Hilton Franchise Hampton Inn Still Denying DHS Agents After Apology — Parent Company Cuts Ties

Hilton Hotels announced early Tuesday that it will “remove” a Minnesota “franchise hotel from our system” after it was again caught denying rooms to Department of Homeland Security (DHS) agents investigating local fraud.

The Hilton Corporation is moving fast to distance itself from this rogue property owner... but I'm guessing the Hilton Corporation will see a financial hit at least temporarily.
