Health Officials Urge Masks as Coronavirus Wave Hits Newsom’s California

Very true, unless they are all alone in their car and still wearing one. In that case it is usually magic mask syndrome. Or...it could be that their nose is cold.
😆Actually about 20 years ago I did wear one in my car during allergy season. It was a terrible year for allergies and I was so sick. You can’t stop pollen from coming in your car even with the vents closed.
I stopped at a red light during that season and there was a guy next to me also wearing a mask. We just looked at each other like “yep.”

That's why I had some disposable masks when covid first came out, and everyone ran out at the stores. I had several people offer to buy them off my face. 😳

Or they have the vents, air intake, and/or windows open and the person is sensitive to exhaust and/or other pollution.

Or . . . he or she has mobility issues and someone had to help put the mask on before he or she left home. My Dad had issues with his mask, mostly because of his (behind-the-ear) hearing aids, before he couldn't drive anymore.

Do you think it helped?

I never bought a mask but eventually they seemed to be everywhere. Since stores wouldn't let you enter without a mask they had them for free at the store entrances. My Chinese sister-in-law mailed me some at the very beginning of the thing... I think I eventually threw those away. It was nice of her though...

Some people are allergic or sensitive to some of the materials/chemicals in some masks. Cloth masks made from cheap material often have toxic dyes and toxic chemicals used in the manufacturing of the cloth.

Ditto filter materials.

There are chemicals and materials in surgical/procedure masks that some people can't tolerate, either.

And latex . . . ear loops and/or materials in masks and filters.

I haven't been out and about all that much in the last week or so, but when I have ventured out, I have not noticed people wearing masks again.
Maybe a couple, but only that. Personally, Deb and I don't wear them, but we limit getting together with friends who have just returned from flights or cruises, etc. We make them wait for two weeks before we get together...........mainly because we know they are not very careful. And, we stick around home on the weekends, when more people are out. We do our errand running on Tues-Wed-Thurs. I won't get a vaccine again................. call me a conspiracy theorist if you will, but I just don't trust our government or anyone else to not try to find a way to get rid of us "old folks" since they seem to believe we are a drain on society. But, basically, I trust God to protect me and to call me home when HE is ready.

Nope. I could barely breathe with one on. It really messed with my asthma, which is also why I had stopped trying to use them for allergies.
I was partly kidding based on one time Fauci seemed to push wearing several at one time. It just made me think of like a marketing tactic to wear several to model for sale. Well, meant as a little funny. But i meant it in good spirit. Didn't want it to seem rude. By the way I really enjoy your interaction on the forum. There is a very pleasant graciousness about you. :) Blessings.

It stopped me from sneezing my head off while in the car, yes.
Wow. This is something that never would have come to my mind about why some people might wear a mask alone in the car. The stigma tends to be from seemingly plays the deep state would play. But if they really help in some cases, this is a helpful thing to know and consider. Its the first time i've ever heard something like that. Interesting thing to consider. Blessings.

That's a funny mental image. Do you suppose your head would have flown out the window, or rolled down where your feet are and interfered with the pedals? *maisey*
I imagine my head flying out the window and hitting the windshield of a semi, scaring the driver half to death. However, once he sees I am not a threat and rather interesting, he mounts my head on his dash to keep him company.
