God has chosen a lot of interesting characters for some big jobs throughout the history of man. They were all far from perfect and in a lot of cases were a bit unusual. I wonder if streaking was common during the time of Elijah... David seems to hold a special place in God's heart, yet David committed some dastardly sins. Solomon was given great wisdom by God, then became polluted by the practices/beliefs of his countless wives and concubines. That's just the tip of the iceberg...
