Germany and Finland investigate a severed data cable through the Baltic Sea

HELSINKI (AP) — German and Finland expressed deep concern over the discovery Monday of a severed undersea data cable between the countries through the Baltic Sea, saying it raised suspicions of sabotage and that an investigation was underway.

The foreign ministries of the two countries said in a joint statement that the damage comes at a time that “our European security is not only under threat from Russia‘s war of aggression against Ukraine, but also from hybrid warfare by malicious actors.”

The statement said the countries were investigating the incident, and that it was crucial that such “critical infrastructure” be safeguarded.

“The fact that such an incident immediately raises suspicions of intentional damage speaks volumes about the volatility of our times,” the two countries said.

Well I'm sure there's going to be a lot of finger pointing going on.

Russia would be an easy target to blame it on due to their submarines that are specifically equipped for such missions (they talked a lot about them some years back before the Nordstream blew up- which ended up being an American operation under Biden's authority)

But I would actually think it's more towards the US side of the house simply because - well - Biden! He does seem to enjoy stirring things up before Trump takes over and his globalist handlers are in favour of a war with NATO on one side and Russia on the other.

In this case Russia doesn't actually want the escalation to war with NATO, it's what he's been afraid of, it's one of the reasons he invaded Ukraine, to stop the growing circle of NATO enemies getting closer and more restrictive.

So just from a who benefits most point of view, I think it's Biden and his handlers.

Russia can barely keep the lights on right now, they are running out of cannon fodder, they don't need war on another front to open up. I would be really surprised to find out that it's them in spite of their subs having this capability.

Hello Margery! Yes. You never know though. I saw this story online:

One thing about Putin is that he seems to be very unpredictable. God Bless :)

Looks like it might be China doing it. I just saw it on Amir Tsarfati's Telegram.

He was quoting something that looked like this article here:

And a more mainstream source France 24 simply says the Yi Peng is under suspicion in this article here: 'Sabotage' suspected after two Baltic Sea cables cut

In the past a gas pipeline between Finland and Estonia (2023) was cut AGAIN BY THE CHINESE when another vessel dragged her anchor across the pipeline. In that case the investigation is still open as to whether it was "accident" or sabotage.

Sounds like China might be doing Russia a little favour with a lot of dragging anchors across sensitive areas and shrugging of shoulders as accidents pile up.

The Financial Times said the Yi Peng 3 was on it's way from Russia to Egypt, passing the cables around the time each was cut according to the maritime tracking group Marine Traffic. The Danish Navy followed them closely afterwards and Sweden has opened an investigation into the role this ship might have played.
