Gavin Newsom asks Charlie Kirk to give his party 'advice' in one-on-one podcast interview

TCC

Well-known

Democratic California Gov. Gavin Newsom sat down one-on-one with conservative firebrand Charlie Kirk for a frank discussion about his party's shortcomings in the 2024 presidential election.

In the first episode of his new podcast, "This Is Gavin Newsom," the governor marveled at Kirk's success as the founder of Turning Point USA, which played a pivotal role in President Donald Trump making inroads with young voters.

Newsom cited the op-ed penned by famed Democratic strategist James Carville, who urged Democrats to "roll over and play dead" and allow President Trump and Republicans to "crumble beneath their own weight and make the American people miss us" as part of a "strategic political retreat."

. . . . .

From the various headlines, it seems like Gavin is kinda owned by Trump...lol. We know it would come down to "Do you want money?" But not sure what happens after they get said money. However it is pretty fascinating to see Trump walking everyone around the block, from Europe, Border, Cartels, Panama, to Newsome. Its like the babysitter just arrived during a food fight. Now everyone is into cleaning...lol. In any event, I hope this goes for Blackrock and Davos and WEF. The world needs to see that all get owned. And what a glorious sight that would be, "if." In any event, just caught this along the way. Interesting to see where all this goes. Blessings.

He just stood up in front of the WEF and told them that he just annihilated everything they've been working towards for years. Awesome!!!

The WEF just found out who is in charge now.

The first two comments on that video :thankyou:

Also GLC, this was almost surreal...like...what WEF? lol. There's no WEF...lol. I didn't see one....did you see one? Like: Hi Everybody...now that we got our little role playing adolescent fantasies out of our systems, I'm the grown up in the room. AND THE PEOPLE SAY, "Yes daddy." Am I right? That's not hyperbole. This is like, kinda real...lol. Yeah?

In passing, this might be a helpful point to perhaps mention something dear to my heart in all of this Because truly my whole experience in this seems to be not really all that much about Trump or America. And in a world of confusion over much of what is going down, I just wanted to highlight something this is like for me.

When I talk like I do in regards to Trump or America, what can tend to happens from time to time is that I hear some version of this (knowing of course it is well meant), "We need to Trust in the Lord, not a man or a presidency, government or nation." Which makes sense because there certainly is Trump worship out there. But if you had the super aggressive fundamentalist church taunt I twisted myself into believing was not just normal but God's supernatural kingdom (to the extent a friend of mine still in it had often referred to its extremely soft extreme violence). If you knew the extreme cost of how savagely I came to understand how bad theological literal enforcement can not only remove options, distort reality, and escort ones life into talibian mentality -- but also encourage ourselves to train our own heart and mind to favor doing it to ourselves too while the elder is abscent because we know its good for us. While not being able to see clearly enough to make basic normal healthy decisions because we might cause some aspect of theological oppression shame (I felt in prior times to protect twisted theology no matter what) and to so go with purpose and force to actually live all that out in all its disproportionate mutated glory...lol...it would make a lot of sense to understand perhaps why I might have taken interest in...

  • The kinds of political contrast research I have been doing for 8 years now
  • The kinds of questioning of eschatological evangelicalsim I have for 8 years now (in part like, how come we let destructive and control freakish fundamentalism into the Chistian house?)
  • The kinds of ways to approach scripture in tandem with how they were actually meant in the 1st century
  • The overwhelming simplicity of the character of God being so so great in eschatology that it seems to almost drown out even the ways we think upon eschatology by contrast

For me dear sister, seeing God providentially use Trump in ways that seem to rather stump the church, or cause mayhem for the church, and yes unfortunatley even give cause in places for those in the church that turn to Trump worship is for me the real popcorn (except for the last point of course). Not because I want to see weakness. Or enjoy it. Although I think it is somewhat of a lost healthy art to see weakness in ourselves in general. But rather to see God use Trump in contrast to where the church can be a con game, reminds me beyond the permission of the church that there not only is a God (I don't say that meaning any disrespect for the church of which I am a member...it's just I've been to the edge, I have seen the underbelly of its misuse in far too intimate ways I wish I never had...but I don't mean this out of disresepct in any way...becaue I do empathisize with a lot of the troubled areas too the church Is rightly concerned in...amen), but a greatly ultra real in our midst God. Pokin all about and around us. A God who helps us see Him beyond our often very frail perspectives--I have been so challenged as we should in how best in refined heart to honor and adore this holy sacred one...as personal as He is great in person and beyond...even. He uses whoever He wants to demonstrate His goodness in the world. And that kind of transcendent power to reach into the heart and soul is cause to worship God, and go, oh yeah...that Trump guy...too...lol. Seeing God's transcendent character in somewhat of what course correction means for us today, for me, is like God tapping me on the shoulder and reminding me it is His creation. And like Romans one, He will be seen in it. He holds unbelievers accountable for not believing in Him based upon creation alone (much less the rejection of His word). And it would seem He can use creation to do more than point to Himself, but also underscore Himself. I guess that would be the sense here for me.

Some will see Trump worship. Some will see weak humanity trusting in men. Some will see political theater. Some will see nothing but deception. Some will see a possible hope for their kids and grandkids. Some will see a revival of New Age theory. In part, I do have empathy toward all those views (meaning I understand why the church would have concern in or in contrast to the plethera of views upon Trump and America). But to just know how Sovereign God is, and how in all His glory He chose to help walk the WEF back using Trump, is not just fascinating on so many levels. And not just a cause for many to pause, but also its kind of poetic ironic humor. Like a modern day knock knock joke: "Knock knock." Who's there? "Who's." Who's who? "Who's your daddy?" lol.
