For Hamas, the October 7th massacre may have been a short lived tactical victory but a colossal strategic defeat:

Iran and Hezbollah never extended a substantial help
The United States didn’t stop Israel
The mass protests in Europe didn’t cause European governments to stop Israel
Israel wasn’t afraid to begin a ground maneouver deep into Gaza
The civilian casualties in Gaza are much greater than Hamas had hoped. Sights of 1948 style defeat.
The Palestinian “human shield” didn’t stop the IDF - most of the civilian population was evacuated to the southern part of Gaza.
The large number of abductees didn’t stop the war.
Following Turkey even Qatar, under enormous American pressure, is considering the expulsion of Hamas leaders from its territory to Iran or Malaysia.
The divided Israeli society didn’t fall apart but rather got stronger!
Most of the Arab countries are doing nearly nothing to help either Gaza or Hamas.
