Florida plans to become first state to eliminate all childhood vaccine mandates

Hol

Florida Surgeon General Dr. Joseph Ladapo cast current requirements in schools and elsewhere as an “immoral” intrusion on people’s rights bordering on “slavery.” Critics say it’s a “public health disaster in the making.”

(Oops, hit a paywall, here’s an alternate source.)

Florida will work to phase out all childhood vaccine mandates in the state, building on the effort by Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis to curb vaccine requirements and other health mandates during the COVID-19 pandemic.

DeSantis also announced on Wednesday the creation of a state-level “Make America Healthy Again” commission modeled after similar initiatives pushed at the federal level by Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr.

This needs to be between Parents and healthcare providers.
Schools also need to advise immediately of any outbreaks (or individual cases if truly serious), so Parents and healthcare providers can make informed decisions as and if the situation changes (vaccination, prophylaxis, special watching for symptoms, keeping specific medications on-hand, school attendance, etc.).

In theory I love this, but if I had kids in school there, I would want them to be protected against a few of the childhood diseases.

The nice thing about this is the parent can choose which vaccinations and when for their child. I delayed required vaccines for my children just a little bit and received so much pushback from the provider(s) that it seemed insane to me. I think a lot fewer vaccines were required for infants 30 years ago than is required now. It's really gotten crazy. The reason I delayed was because my infant(s) were so small I just didn't think it was a good idea to inject them with so much stuff so soon. I also refused the live polio and so the provider had to order the dead version. The noise made over that was something I'll never forget.

Some vaccines do some good, but until adequate research is done, it’s time to recognize that the majority of the medical advice has been uninformed.

I would love to see unbiased research done on all vaccines. With no Big Pharma money involved and using true controls. Comparing children into their adulthood with vaccines vs those with no vaccines. That would be amazing!
