Florida High School Athletic Association 'Prayer is wrong and something you should be ashamed of'

The Florida High School Athletic Association is being accused of making out that prayer is "dangerous" or "wrong" with its ban on a pre-game prayer leading up to a high-school championship game between two Christian schools.


It is First Liberty Institute that, with other legal teams, is arguing in court on behalf of Cambridge Christian School.


And, it explains, "the constitutional right to pray over the loudspeaker at the beginning of the state championship football game between two Christian schools."
 
Well, all I can say is a big thing that satan and his minions would NOT want happening is believer's in Christ and those seeking salvation, to be praying!


This tells me (and also God's Word) that prayer is very important, powerful and effective, including against evil. Believer's in Christ, who are in right relationship with God and looked upon with incredible favor because of the righteousness of Christ imputed to them, have God's very attentive ears.


I can attest that God answers many prayers, "small" and big! Don't be afraid to pray, pray about everything!


Let your gentle spirit be known to all people. The Lord is [a]near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and pleading with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.

On another note, our founding fathers designated the freedom of religion. In their historical context, it was freedom from being dictated to which church they are allowed to attend, freedom to choose their church of choice. And from innumerable quotes from Presidents, Congressmen, and various leaders of our country during and long after their time, it was quite clear that creating a framework, the Constitution that allowed for and greatly encouraged the worship of God, Jesus Christ. At the end, the Constitution speaks of "...the year of our Lord." In it's historical context that would be one Lord, Jesus Christ.


On July 4th, 1776 at the declaration of the thirteen united states of America the terms: Nature's God, Creator, Supreme Judge and Divine Providence were utilized to support this Declaration. So, to divorce the idea of a sovereign, almighty God being depended on in the formation of the Constitution and the great declaration of this very day, July 4th, is to be completely uneducated or purposely obtuse of America's history.


Many of our schools and colleges also were formed to encourage and develop believers in Christ to serve Him. Harvard is one of them.....although one would not be able to recognize this today.


Just some truth thoughts for the day.

God Almighty: "But we request of you, brethren, that you appreciate those who diligently labor among you, and have charge over you in the Lord and give you instruction, and that you esteem them very highly in love because of their work. Live in peace with one another. We urge you, brethren, admonish the unruly, encourage the fainthearted, help the weak, be patient with everyone. See that no one repays another with evil for evil, but always seek after that which is good for one another and for all people. Rejoice always; pray without ceasing; in everything give thanks; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. Do not quench the Spirit; do not despise prophetic utterances. But examine everything carefully; hold fast to that which is good; abstain from every form of evil." (1 Thessalonians 5:12-22, NASB 1995, emphasis mine).

Last I checked, the Florida High School Athletic Association didn't create the universe, nor die for our sins.

And, for who's interests is it dangerous and wrong?

The demons and their father of lies, satan.

If you are a praying Christian, you are a target....but Jesus within is greater than the one targeting.


I remember reading about a type of spiritualist being asked why he didn't visit the U.S., I believe around the late 1700's. The answer was that the praying church inhibited their being able to even be in the U.S.

We had a psychic set up shop in our community to my dismay. So, I began to pray that the Lord would deal with this, and for the "psychic's" salvation. It was a hesitant prayer, not sure of what would happen but I felt prompted this was the best response.

A couple of months later the place shut down. And I thanked God for His answer to prayer.
