Ezekiel 38: The Marquee Event
Mankind is about to experience one of the most important prophetic episodes in its history. The marquee event results from the fulfillment of the foretellings in Ezekiel 38 and 39. These two Ezekiel chapters contain some of the most descriptive and easy to understand biblical predictions. Ezekiel describes the epic end times events through which the Lord will notify the world that He is the one true God. The key verses in this regard are;

�So I will make My holy name known in the midst of My people Israel, and I will not let them profane My holy name anymore. Then the nations shall know that I am the LORD, the Holy One in Israel. Surely it is coming, and it shall be done,� says the Lord GOD. �This is the day of which I have spoken.� (Ezekiel 39:7�8)

I like what you stated in another post, i think Bill's off the mark on the Psalm 83 prophecy but is spot on with the other ones like Jeremiah 49 etc

I just think his theory is a bit of stretch because it includes Egypt and Jordan (not saying they won't get sucked in at some point- Bill might be right) as well as Saudi Arabia (not currently at war with Israel and looking like an ally by the time of Ezek 38) and it doesn't include Russia and Iran both of whom are a major player in the current war as well as anything in the near future.

So my general idea is that this war might set the stage or perhaps morph into another one one involving 2 things: destruction of Damascus as seen in Isaiah 17 and Jeremiah 49, as well as another Jeremiah 49 player- Elam which is a part of Iran today.

Ezek 32:17-32 is the other passage which mentions Syria (just not Damascus) as well as Elam and quite a few other players in a war that seems to start because of terrorism. Bill got me thinking about that in his book Nuclear Showdown in Iran and I've kept thinking about it ever since.

If these are compared, there is a lot of overlap with Psalm 83 but Ezek 32 adds the princes of the North which can only mean Russia as every other nation north of Israel plays a part in that prophecy. Ezek includes Egypt and parts of Jordan while Jeremiah 49 also includes Jordan.

There is some interesting wording in the Ezek 32:17-32 passage which suggests Egypt got sucked into a war that seems to start over terrorism. Jordan appears as Edom, Syria as Assyria, Lebanon, and Turkey plus the princes of the North. If you look carefully at who is spreading terror it's Iran and Syria. Turkey appears to spread terror, but they get caught in this war before they can pick up their weapons. Edom isn't linked to terror. Lebanon and princes of the North cause terror. Egypt is consoled in her losses because of all these others who die. Apparently at some point she too caused terror but it doesn't seem like she causes terror in this war. She gets pulled in.

So to recap- Egypt and Jordan get sucked into a war that seems to start because of the terrorism that the following nations cause: Iran, Turkey, Syria, Lebanon and the enigmatic "Princes of the North" which appear to be Russia as Turkey, Syria and Lebanon are all named so unless Zelensky and Ukraine decide to cause terrorism in the land of the living (around the world) then it's Russia.

IF, BIG IF this war morphed into that one as I sketched out above, combining the 3 passages, then Psalm 83 might be a candidate EXCEPT for Saudi Arabia. And for Saudi Arabia to go from a friendly stance currently, then to a combatant against Israel in a Psalm 83 war, only to turn around as a friendly again by the time of the Ezek 38 war is too much.

So I prefer to leave Psalm 83 as an imprecatory Psalm with possible prophetic fulfillment at some other time but not in the near future, and not shortly before Ezek 38 which does seem to be setting it's stage at the present time.

I do think Bill's point about Israel needing to have a war to subdue the near circle, plus Iran in order to be peaceful and unsuspecting by the time of Ezek 38 is correct.

I just think it's not Psalm 83 that does it.

Yeah i agree, i'm wondering just how soon Iran will give Hezbollah the greenlight to start a proper war with Israel

That is EXACTLY right. Hamas jumped the gun and went ahead of schedule which annoyed Iran but ended up being a blessing in disguise for Israel. If it had all gone off at once using ALL the proxies, it was supposed to be the End Game for Israel.

Iran being their usual crooked bright and nasty selves --have probably already calculated how much reserve Israel has left and whether it's worth it to launch the Hezzies and some Syrians at Israel once they've expended a lot of resources on the Gaza. They have friendlies and proxies in the West Bank too.

I think the battleship the Americans sent surprised Iran, but they aren't blind to the way that Biden is hamstringing Israel from dealing with Gaza. The longer Hamas can string out hostage negotiations in between firing weapons to break off any ceasefires, the worse the world will view Israel and the more problems the Americans will put in Israel's path to victory over Hamas.

Letting it drag on via hostage negotiations going on and off all the time would suit Iran's agenda perfectly. The world's media has the attention span of a flea! Blaming Israel for what their attackers do is the default position and they are always ready to swallow lies from the terrorists.

Blinken and his boss Biden were tying the sale of needed supplies and spare parts for Israel to Israel's cease fire in the Gaza.

Add the fact that several known, uncovered Iranian operatives are still working at high levels in the State Dept, with complete unfettered access to info, Iran probably knows exactly what the State dept is doing to hamper Israel and exactly what timetable would work best.
