Ever wondered if you could see for yourself the evidence of the plagues of Egypt - well have I got a video for you!

actually more than one.

So this morning's coffee I was listening to Expedition Bible - a fantastic father and son team exploring archeology that backs up the Bible.

Today's episode involves a look at the first born son of the Pharoah of the Exodus, or rather his mummified corpse. Always nice to see a mummified corpse of the enemies of God with the morning coffee. - YouTube

Sort of a cheery bracing start to the day going :yikes: and working on that coffee

This was a sequel to this video here, prior involving the mummy of dear old dad who faced down Moses. - YouTube

These both dive into the chronology and why exactly the Bible is right and these are the Pharoah and his hapless first born son. Oh and lest you wonder if Pharoah died in the Red Sea with his army, he didn't- the army did, for reasons explained in today's episode of watching ancient Egyptians defy God and die.

This goes along with a papyrus scroll of Ipuwer - YouTube in which a scribe of the time of Exodus is DESCRIBING the horrors of the plague on everyday life with everyday Egyptians. Hint, the Bible is right, and the horrors are there and are real.

and it all adds up to wonderful glimpses of the reality of the Bible.

Why I love this is because of the similarities between the plagues of Egypt and what's coming in the Tribulation.

Pharoah is another type of the AntiChrist, holding the Jews captive as slaves.

Moses is coming as a type of the Messiah at the Second Coming.

The Plagues are similar to the happenings in the Tribulation, only those will be much worse and cover the planet.

We will be removed before all this happens, BUT the fact that this happened just as the Bible said, means that what is prophesied to come, will happen just as the Bible says.

Oh and don't miss the unusual boils on the mummified remains. Apparently not found on other Egyptian mummies- this was something dreadful. The Egyptians were scandalized and horrified by any health issues especially those involving skin and the loss of beauty. They had high standards and weren't ready for the way the plagues messed with them and their "gods".

Reminiscent of the loathsome sores of the first Bowl Judgment of Rev 16:2 here: 2 The first angel went and poured out his bowl on the land, and ugly, festering sores broke out on the people who had the mark of the beast and worshiped its image.

Exodus 9:8-12 The 6th Plague in Egypt (before the death of the firstborn, which was the 10th and final plague)
8 Then the Lord said to Moses and Aaron, “Take handfuls of soot from a furnace and have Moses toss it into the air in the presence of Pharaoh.

9 It will become fine dust over the whole land of Egypt, and festering boils will break out on people and animals throughout the land.”

10 So they took soot from a furnace and stood before Pharaoh. Moses tossed it into the air, and festering boils broke out on people and animals.

11 The magicians could not stand before Moses because of the boils that were on them and on all the Egyptians.

12 But the Lord hardened Pharaoh’s heart and he would not listen to Moses and Aaron, just as the Lord had said to Moses.

The reason that mummified eldest son of Pharoah was buried with the evidence of sores on his skin, was a result of that 6th Plague. He died in the 10th Plague.

The Bible is NOT BORING! It is ALIVE and brings life to us who believe (and reminders of impending death and judgment to those who refuse to believe)

Cheers!

I couldn't help myself. I had to see it again, and I noticed I made an error. The boils were on the Pharoah's body, while his young first born son didn't have the boils.

or whatever those sores were. Looked a little like some kind of smallpox and certainly impressed the archaeologist who discovered the body. What also impressed the archeologists was the fact that this son died BEFORE his father because nobody gets buried in a tomb after a king. His children that deserve a royal burial (the boys in the line of succession) are allowed to be buried in his tomb before he dies but after that nobody. And the guy doing the video points out that this was actually never seen before in Egyptian digs.

So this says this Pharoah buried his first born - and later died, but still with evidence of the sores.

Now THAT is interesting too because Pharoah in the Egyptian mind was both king AND high priest for the nation. ANYONE - king, priest OR as seen in the Bible, the magicians (priest class) were immediately disqualified from those offices until their skin went back to perfect.

That meant a couple of things that definitely ground the gears in Egypt-

The priests and magicians were ritually impure, so they couldn't do all the rituals to their gods to ensure prosperity, health, and wealth and all the things important to the average Egyptian. At least for a while.

BUT PHAROAH was THE MOST IMPORTANT of all to ensure the safety, health and prosperity of Egypt in his role as king priest, and he HAD to participate in the rituals OR ELSE.

So that skin disease that remained on Pharoah for the rest of his life ensured that God was making it CLEAR that the God who took Israel out of Egypt was the biggest, most powerful God of all;

AND it meant that for the rest of Pharoah's life he was ritually impure, and he even DIED THAT WAY- which meant that according to Egyptian thought, this carried over INTO HIS ROLES IN THE AFTERLIFE.

This would have been an incredible humiliation that endured till Pharoah died, and his second born son took over, and the memory faded.

The church sermon today was on Moses as a type of Christ- meekness, humility and strength.

I thought again about that 6th plague in Egypt and the one to come in Rev 16:2

God will humiliate the enemy over and over during the Tribulation, pointing out how powerless he truly is against GOD!

Scummy looking (and really uncomfortable) skin disease is only part of it all.

But is sure is amazing to see the evidence.

And one final point. Jude tells us the enemy contended with the archangel Michael to know where Moses was buried.

So God buried Moses somewhere, and the enemy would love to know where. For whatever reason.

BUT the Pharoah who opposed God and Moses is lying in state as a dried up mummy complete with the sores that would have been a daily reminder of his humiliation before God and Moses and in full view of his people. For all time, a dried up defeated foe, a crispy critter and a reminder that GOD has the final say.

I LOVE IT!!!!

@Margery, I finally found the time to watch all three youtube vids.
Amazing, indeed!
The Bible will always have the last word.

I've done some further research on the Ipuwer Papyrus, which rests now in the Dutch museum of Leiden.
Found a Dutch exerpt of an English book Ages in Chaos by Immanuel Velikovsky.
(Now I only need some time to read it....)

Oh Erika! YOU CAN GO SEE THAT PAPYRUS!!! WOW! I would love that. To view a piece of papyrus written on by a disgruntled worried Egyptian scribe about the plagues! Living history.

I read some of Immanuel Velikovsky as a teenager- Worlds in Collision, and another I can't remember. In an old section of the library in Campbell River about the time my mother died. Left a lasting impression. Spoke to my uncle the Christian geophycisist who was a Creation Scientist (and a friend of Barry Setterfield who started the whole thing about the speed of light not being constant) and HE LOVED those books! To the best of my knowledge Velikovsy wasn't a Christian, but he was a fan of the Biblical narrative because he saw that in our solar system and in plate tectonics. VERY hard to find his stuff now.

It's amazing how secular science tries to cover this up. Even that tomb was closed for whatever reason. I have never heard of any of this stuff until I looked into it after seeing some of these videos. As an individual that was indoctrinated by the public school system my whole life, these 'details' help strengthen my faith.

I agree. They want it ignored and/or covered up. And in most cases, the masses comply. I know there are lots of ambiguity still attached to if Noah's Ark has been found, but there seems to be massive evidence on the location of the Tower of Babel, the walls of Jericho, the ruins of Sodom and Gomorrah, the valley where David slew Goliath, the Temple Mount in Jerusalem, the city of Christ's birth, the split rock and Mt Sinai, Golgotha, and so many other biblical archaeology sites.

Disbelief and rebellion leads many to hate the evidence. Not unlike the way God's word is treated.

Yeah, Joel Kramer's YT channel has a great video on Sodom and Gomorroh. He found the sulfer balls, ash layer etc. It is worth a watch.
