actually more than one.
So this morning's coffee I was listening to Expedition Bible - a fantastic father and son team exploring archeology that backs up the Bible.
Today's episode involves a look at the first born son of the Pharoah of the Exodus, or rather his mummified corpse. Always nice to see a mummified corpse of the enemies of God with the morning coffee. - YouTube
Sort of a cheery bracing start to the day going
and working on that coffee
This was a sequel to this video here, prior involving the mummy of dear old dad who faced down Moses. - YouTube
These both dive into the chronology and why exactly the Bible is right and these are the Pharoah and his hapless first born son. Oh and lest you wonder if Pharoah died in the Red Sea with his army, he didn't- the army did, for reasons explained in today's episode of watching ancient Egyptians defy God and die.
This goes along with a papyrus scroll of Ipuwer - YouTube in which a scribe of the time of Exodus is DESCRIBING the horrors of the plague on everyday life with everyday Egyptians. Hint, the Bible is right, and the horrors are there and are real.
and it all adds up to wonderful glimpses of the reality of the Bible.
Why I love this is because of the similarities between the plagues of Egypt and what's coming in the Tribulation.
Pharoah is another type of the AntiChrist, holding the Jews captive as slaves.
Moses is coming as a type of the Messiah at the Second Coming.
The Plagues are similar to the happenings in the Tribulation, only those will be much worse and cover the planet.
We will be removed before all this happens, BUT the fact that this happened just as the Bible said, means that what is prophesied to come, will happen just as the Bible says.
Oh and don't miss the unusual boils on the mummified remains. Apparently not found on other Egyptian mummies- this was something dreadful. The Egyptians were scandalized and horrified by any health issues especially those involving skin and the loss of beauty. They had high standards and weren't ready for the way the plagues messed with them and their "gods".
Reminiscent of the loathsome sores of the first Bowl Judgment of Rev 16:2 here: 2 The first angel went and poured out his bowl on the land, and ugly, festering sores broke out on the people who had the mark of the beast and worshiped its image.
Exodus 9:8-12 The 6th Plague in Egypt (before the death of the firstborn, which was the 10th and final plague)
8 Then the Lord said to Moses and Aaron, “Take handfuls of soot from a furnace and have Moses toss it into the air in the presence of Pharaoh.
9 It will become fine dust over the whole land of Egypt, and festering boils will break out on people and animals throughout the land.”
10 So they took soot from a furnace and stood before Pharaoh. Moses tossed it into the air, and festering boils broke out on people and animals.
11 The magicians could not stand before Moses because of the boils that were on them and on all the Egyptians.
12 But the Lord hardened Pharaoh’s heart and he would not listen to Moses and Aaron, just as the Lord had said to Moses.
The reason that mummified eldest son of Pharoah was buried with the evidence of sores on his skin, was a result of that 6th Plague. He died in the 10th Plague.
The Bible is NOT BORING! It is ALIVE and brings life to us who believe (and reminders of impending death and judgment to those who refuse to believe)
Cheers!
