Distraught Israelis Wake to News of Delay in Hostage Release

Tall Timbers

Imperfect but forgiven

Israelis woke up Thursday expecting to see the first of fifty hostages released by Hamas under an agreement approved earlier this week. Instead, they learned the hostage release would not take place at 10 a.m. as promised, and might not happen before Friday.

I hope that Israel has already resumed war operations and won't be quite so gullible next time there is an agreement for a prisoner exchange. This has to be very hard on those who have loved ones captured by hamas.

Israel should focus on annihilating hamas until hamas is no more. If they come upon opportunities to rescue hostages they can take advantage of them.

Qatar: Gaza truce to kick off Friday at 7 a.m., 13 hostages will be freed at 4 p.m.

Ex-spy Pollard: Israel should have imprisoned some hostage families ‘to silence them’

“When we declared war, the first thing that the government should have done was to declare a state of national emergency and told all of the hostage families, ‘You will keep your mouths shut, or we will shut them for you. You will not interfere in the management of this war. You will not be used by the international community or by our own leftists, who managed the Shalit deal, as a weapon against us,'” he says.

“I was dead-set against turning all these posters out, the kidnapped, with all these pictures of these poor people that were kidnapped,” Pollard adds. “Why? Because each one of them was a poison dart at our ability to wage total war against our enemies.”

He advocates for Israel to go on with the war without any deal, even at the cost of killing many Israeli hostages.

Pollard makes some valid points despite how harsh it sounds. Israel is fighting a war for National survival. When it comes to waging this war, the safety of 250 hostages is way down the list of things that are important.

First group of Israeli captives released from Gaza

Thirteen Israeli women and children were released by the Hamas terrorist organization in Gaza Friday afternoon, the first of four planned hostage releases slated for the four-day ceasefire.

The captives were transferred to the Red Cross, while Israel grants early release to 39 Arab terrorists held in Israeli prisons.

All of the released terrorists are either women or teenagers.
