Disabled Canadian veteran warns UK citizens against legalising assisted suicide

A Canadian vet, “who served in the Canadian Armed Forces as an Artillery Gunner in Afghanistan. During my deployment, I was sent outside the wire to work alongside the British military in OP TORA ARWA.” She was injured and medically released in 2011 with PTSD, hearing loss, and a traumatic brain injury (TBI). She now is “a 100% disabled combat veteran.”

So when a fellow UK veteran reached out to her because he received this message from his general practitioner in this message:

“On Feb 4, 2025, after being offered therapy, counseling, and medication by my GP at Queensway Medical Centre, I had another breakdown at the start of February and was taken to Kettering A&E Hospital. I was seen by a Dr. A, who discussed other treatments to assist me. After I told him nothing seemed to be working, he mentioned MAiD as a suggestion. I was shocked. I immediately asked to be discharged. After they released me, I stormed out of the hospital and took a cab home.”

This isn’t even a law in the UK. The incident was reported to the his local police department in the UK - nothing has been done about the doctor illegally offering him MAID.

• MAiD (Medical Assistance in Dying) is illegal in the UK.
• A 25-year old UK veteran was in crisis and asked for help.
• A UK doctor suggested assisted suicide illegally.

Since 2016, Canada’s government—with pro-death lobbying groups like Dying with Dignity—has slowly expanded MAiD. At first, they swore it would only be for the terminally ill. By 2021, they added Track 2—allowing MAiD for people who are not dying. Now, it’s being offered to the homeless. To the disabled. To struggling veterans. In Canada, a veteran called the crisis hotline for help and was offered MAiD. Now it’s happening in the UK—before a single bill has passed.”

According to the article “At least six veterans in Canada have been offered euthanasia by the Veterans Affairs Department after requesting help. One, five-time world Paralympic champion Christine Gauthier, asked for care and received a letter stating: “If it’s too difficult for you to continue living, Madam, we can offer you medical assistance in dying.” One veteran called a crisis hotline – and was offered assisted suicide as a solution.

Illegally being offered, without repercussion makes me think that it will at least be considered law in the UK. These people have served their countries and now, to those who are supposed to heal. Has life become that worthless to those who have taken an oath to save it?

My women’s Bible Study is going through Exodus and Leviticus and just finishing up, Leviticus talks about how life is precious to the Lord. Even though we live no longer live under the law, we are to follow it as children of God. Respecting each and every life, that’s precious to God, is what we are called to do. How low that the world has sunk and in our own country, even just under two short months ago, abortion was the platform of the losing (thank You Lord!) party.


The UK is considering joining with Canada in offering assisted suicide instead of living with continued care. This is just one part of the population that may be affected. Next will be the elderly, and perhaps the handicapped…. How little life is respected! The world keeps getting worse.

Thank You Lord that You will call us out, sometime soon. Come quickly Lord Jesus!

Praying that this will not come into place until after the Rapture, and that a backlash in Canada will bring the end of MAID as it's currently practiced.

In some countries that establish MAID I could see that a time would come that if one doesn't accept MAID then they are denied the medical care that they need. If they are wealthy they could get it anyway, but the other 98% or so would be left to suffer until they pass away.
