The week is off to a good start! That case should have never even been a question. I saw somewhere he was considered or nominated for a medal of honor, hope that happens.

The fact that Neely died is regrettable, but he shouldn't have been terrorizing people on the train or whatever it was that made Penny feel he needed to step in. Apparently liberals are melting down over this over on the Bluesky social app where many of them have retreated to from X. Neely apparently had a rap sheet a mile long, a current warrant out, and past violent behavior as well as mental illness.
Just a sad case all around. It had nothing to do with racism. I just want to put that out there for anyone who may google up this thread and think a bunch of whacko Christians are cheering on the white man. We are simply glad that justice was done on behalf of a man who came to the aid of others in danger, perceived or real.
If Penney had been found guilty, then no New Yorker would have been safe in the future; simply because no one would have stepped in to help another person for fear of being charged and convicted of a crime when all they were doing was saving people's lives. So, this decision was a good one not just for Mr Penny but for all the people of New York. It's time that woke, politically-inspired, self-important prosecutors and attorneys-general such as Alvin Bragg, Leticia James, and Fani Willis, etc are put out of office forever. They are a stain on the American justice system.
So true, however, they pointed out on Fox this morning that members of the public still may not step up to help anymore. Who wants to go through all of that like Penny did? Very sad all around.
