The anchors of "CBS Evening News" addressed the abrupt exit of "60 Minutes" executive producer Bill Owens as the network continues its legal battle with President Donald Trump.

"CBS Evening News" anchors John Dickerson and Maurice DuBois paid tribute to outgoing "60 Minutes" producer while being candid about the corporate pressure the network is facing from President Donald Trump.
"Finally, tonight, a story that is personal for us here at CBS News," Dickerson told viewers at the end of Tuesday's newscast. "Our friend and colleague, Bill Owens, announced today he is stepping down as executive producer of ‘60 Minutes.’"
"In its more than half a century on the air, '60 Minutes' has prided itself on independent reporting, but Owens said he was no longer allowed to run the broadcast as it had been run and to make independent decisions," DuBois said.

This article is interesting because it demonstrates the cultural changes taking place in media. 10 or 20 years ago it was pretty noticeable how liberal mindset owned much of media. Now such a staple media outlet as 60 minutes feels the pinch of change. It is not the greatest vibe that bulkwork media outlets like 60 Minutes finds itself impacted by the power of the federal government. Normally I would be for the little guy. But the little guy in this case seems to have been state TV. So Fed is the little guy? lol. Strange days I'm thinking. Blessings.
