Antony Blinken on Tuesday approved the possible sale to Israel of fighter jets and other military equipment worth over $20 billion, the Pentagon said.

In a statement, the Pentagon said Blinken approved the possible sale of F-15 jets and equipment worth nearly $19 billion. He also approved the possible sale of tank cartridges worth around $774 million and army vehicles worth $583 million, the Pentagon said.

The tank rounds would be almost immediately available for delivery. The Boeing Co F-15 fighter jets would take years to produce and deliver.

While approving weapons to Israel, Washington has also tried to arrange a ceasefire deal in Gaza that would potentially stave off a wider Middle East war.

My question to Blinky Blinken is whether he or his boss will allow the bought and paid for weapons to be DELIVERED as promised.

Because we all know how Joe Biden has delayed (he termed it slow walking) the delivery of past weapons, and to the best of my knowledge some of THOSE are still in shipment, ..... eventually.

This smells like a PR stunt by the White House to pretend that it's not REALLY stopping weapons shipments to Israel (but it really is when Joe or Kamala are talking to the pro Pali crowd)

The Biden administration's confidence in Israel's assurances in adhering to international law was called into question on Wednesday following the Pentagon's announcement of its sale to Israel of more than $20 billion worth of fighter jets, tank cartridges and army vehicles.

The US has a longstanding security partnership with the government of Israel spanning decades, State Department spokesperson Vedant Patel told reporters on Wednesday, but that does not change the tools and mechanisms the US has at its disposal to ensure American defense articles are not being used improperly.

Patel referenced the Leahy vetting forum, a process which made headlines late last week after the State Department announced the completion of its criminal investigation into the Netzah Yehuda battalion regarding its involvement in the death of a 78-year-old Palestinian-American man in the West Bank.

Would Blinken tell Turkey the same thing after just making a deal to supply them with F-16 jets this week?
Or to Ukraine after supplying them with billions in military aid?
Only Israel can be held accountable if weapons are not used as the US wants them used

In other words, we can take Israel's money, promise the weapons but if they plan to use them to defend themselves we reserve the right to withhold delivery.

Yeah sounds about right for this administration.
