Just waiting for the Rapture at this point!
"One can believe what he is told, but to say that you Know means that you have gone from “Belief” to true knowledge."
The above is a quote from what a friend of mine stated when discussing Christianity and the Bible this morning. I was making the point that someone like a Pastor or a mature Christian may give you something new that you may tend to believe. However, unless you either experience it yourself or see it in the Bible yourself, you won't totally believe it. If you confirm it yourself through your experience or the Bible, that is when you have true knowledge or one could say accept it as a fact. In other words, we cannot totally trust what men say but we should verify what we are told with the Bible and/or our experience.
Here is an example of my point with a story I made up below.
A good friend of John named Peter states that his Comaro is faster than John's Corvette. As John knows and trusts Peter, he tends to believe it. John tells Peter that they should race and see if that is true. So John and Peter race and Peter's Camaro wins. Now John does not just believe it but is convinced by his own experience. However, if John had read in a trusted car magazine that said a Camaro is faster than a Corvette, John would have also been convinced that way.
Remember to verify what someone tells you regarding Christianity by your own personal experience or verifying it in the Bible.
