Apostasy In The Church

Thanks Light. Very blessed ministry. I agree that seeker friendly is not the answer to culture. I was with a church that specialized in kind of the opposite. Their premise was the vibe of Peter in Acts 5. Do you want to be a member of our church where God may drop you dead? "We don't mess around." And that motif has seemed to make it extremely popular. I agree with those tenants to a degree. The other side of the pendulum that is not non-existent by any stretch and many ministries i know of are aware of this problem. That perhaps a redress to seeker friendly is harsh and brutal fundamentalism. That is not an excuse to be seeker friendly though. But it has made itself at home in the deepest regions of the church psyche. Nouthetic counseling has become extremely trendy in churches (even world wide), which is (depending on who the counselor is) or can be fundamentalism on steroids brought to your home church. And in part there are studies too that this kind of rigid attempt has contributed to many people leaving the church. One of the more interesting corridors of time sample on this is the era in which the book Tale of Three Kings was written. The author of that book received tons and tons of emails speaking of widespread church abuse. And the gratitude that was pouring out over the writing of the Tale of Three kings. So i think we have a time of both weak sauce churches and bully churches. lol. They got us surrounding :(

I found it though very refreshing to watch this video. I have loved Lamb and Lion ministries over the years. At the end of the day, we need faithful ministries. Faithful churches. And the culture we live in certainly needs this kind of output. Thanks for sharing this video. In 2017 I came to believe that we are in the Laodicean church era. As helpful of an identifier as that may sound though, i don't think it just effects the weak seeker friendly churches. I would see it affect huge swaths of church type landscape in a much more pervasive manner than the Hill Song version seeker friendly churches or prosperity churches (it blows my mind how anyone could settle for that...lol) are usually thought of as. From what i have seen its quite a bit scarier than that. But we need to express the truth of Christ from the vantage point shared in this video for sure. Amen. :)

In my early Christian years i was influenced by Kenneth Copeland, the Genesis gap theory (although i know this is a very different issue), and I even went to a Peter Poppoff event where friends from my church were saying, "Wow its amazing how the spirit of doubt really comes out when God is at work." Amazing that guy stayed in ministry even after the FBI charges of fraud. Later when i was involved with a sound church, i noticed they were pretty darn sophisticated in how they operated ministry philosophy. I remember thinking to myself 20 years ago, "Wow if this church is able to do ministry like they do (kind of a sophisticated blend of CIA operations with honoring the body of Christ---yeah a strange kind of mix) i wonder how the church will look in the end times (not realizing what time it was then). Very blessed by this video. I always check what pastors believe if i don't know so i have an idea of where they are coming from. This channel is a very blessed ministry. Amen and amen. Blessings.

This is a discussion with Jeff Kinley on what is happening with the church looking so much like the world. Some people are more interested in being accepted by people than pleasing God. These are my thoughts, https://christinprophecy.org/programs/the-coming-apostasy-with-jeff-kinley/
This is talking about the falling away with Andy Woods, Jeff Kinley, and Oliver Melnick. I was hoping Jeff Kinley would say something in this, but he didn't. The above link with Lamb & Lion he takes the side of apostasy in the church as the falling away. Andy Woods believes the falling away is the church departing as in the :rapture: . Here is the link to watch with Andy Woods, Oliver Melnick, and Jeff Kinley. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I9SruDOBoKE

I agree with Lamb and Lion, that the falling away is the apostasy in the Church and fewer and fewer people believing and so less and less salt, light, and Great Commission.

3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;
2 Thessalonians 2:3, KJV

The Strong's number for falling away is G646:

Strong's entry from e-Sword:

apostasia
ap-os-tas-ee'-ah
Feminine of the same as G647; defection from truth (properly the state), (“apostasy”): - falling away, forsake.
Total KJV occurrences: 2

A very conservative Pastor told me that doctrine drives practice.

The Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) has doctrine that allows women and homosexual Pastors and celebration of homosexual "weddings," so, they have women and homosexual Pastors and celebrate homosexual "weddings."

God tells us
6 Your glorying is not good. Know ye not that a little leaven leaveneth the whole lump?
1 Corinthians 5:6, KJV

So it is not surprising that with the apostasy in the Pastoral office and weddings permeating the ELCA, that more apostasy would gain entry and grow. Sure enough, some ELCA churches are hosting muslim holiday meals and allowing muslim outreach and social services to use their buildings
