The U.S. military is tracking a high-altitude balloon over the Western United States, two U.S. officials confirmed to Fox News on Friday.

It was spotted by U.S. military aircraft and determined to not be a threat.

The origin of this balloon and its purpose are not yet known, the two officials said.

Regardless of what the military says, I still find these balloons very concerning, especially in light of everything else that has been going on lately, such as the phone and pharmacy outages…

I don't understand why they can't shoot it down just to remind everyone that US airspace is not a free for all but I suppose it's like the leaky borders.

So they have no idea to whom it belongs or what it is doing but they are sure it is not a threat. Hmmmmm

Last time, after finally shooting the Chinese balloon down after it had crossed over our airspace for a great many days, they looked dumber than dirt (which they are) so they then proceeded to shoot down 2 or 3 balloons that turned out to belong to US civilians/organizations... which made them appear even more dumber than dirt, which they are.

This is probably just another Chinese spy balloon actively collecting intelligence of our military sites. Someday they'll probably send one over North America that looks exactly like the spy balloons but it will have a nuke for EMP built into it...
