KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — A 4.1 magnitude earthquake was confirmed in near the state border of Tennessee and North Carolina Saturday morning, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.
At 9:10 a.m., the USGS confirmed that a 3.5 magnitude earthquake was detected and felt across the region as far as Greenback, Maryville, Seymour and Atlanta, Georgia. Around 9:20 a.m., the agency updated the magnitude rating to 4.1.
