Who Are the 10 Kings in Daniel and Revelation?

Andy C

Well-known
Some of the questions I’m most often asked involve the identity of the 10 kings mentioned in the Books of Daniel and Revelation. They’re not necessarily asking for the names or individual identities of the 10 kings, but rather more general aspects of their identities.

Are they tech oligarchs? Prime ministers? Actual kings? Will the world be divided into ten regions, and the 10 kings are U.N.-appointed regional governors? In all likelihood, the world won’t know until the events outlined in Daniel and Revelation play out in real time.

Nevertheless, we can speculate – as long as we realize that’s all it is, speculation. In this article, I’ll provide my thoughts on where these individuals will come from, what kind of people they will likely be (kings, prime ministers, regional governors, tech oligarchs, etc.), and how they will ultimately take power over the earth.

But know this, any speculations I make must be grounded in scripture. We need to first understand what the Bible clearly tells us. Because some things we don’t have to speculate about. We can know them for sure.

For example, one thing we know for sure is the 10 kings will part of a revived Roman Empire…

Revived Roman Empire

During the reign of King Belshazzar of Babylon, the prophet Daniel had a vision (Daniel 7:1). He saw four beasts – a lion with eagle’s wings, a bear, a four-headed leopard, and a terrifying beast with ten horns. At first, the vision confused Daniel. He didn’t know what to think. Then, an angel explained the vision. He said the four beasts represent four kingdoms (Daniel 7:17). We know from the benefit of hindsight these kingdoms were Babylon, Medo-Persia, Greece, and Rome.

Daniel paid particular attention to the fourth beast.

A very long but very good article by Britt. I hope he's wrong about some parts because if he's correct, we are nowhere near the Rapture as too much in his scenario has yet to occur. But his idea that the 10 Kings are 10 heads of state and not 10 technocrats or 10 anything else is something I agree with because it makes a lot of sense and, I believe, lines up with scripture better than any other explanation.

Hi Andy,

Now I was taught a bit differently. I will present what I believe as something others can look into.

The 10 kings are part of the fourth great power before the Lord sets up His rulership through Israel over the nations.

The fourth beast shall be a fourth kingdom on the earth... (Dan. 7: 23)

`And the ten horns which you saw are ten kings who have received no kingdom as yet, but they receive authority one hour as kings with the beast. (Rev. 17: 12)

This fourth kingdom, great power headed up by the beast A/C, will tread down the other great powers that were ruling at the same time.

The fourth beast...which shall be different from all other kingdoms, and shall devour the whole earth, trample it and break it in pieces... (Dan. 7: 23)

This great power is not the Roman Empire I believe, because God has already judged it and those ancient empires too, they are not in the time of God setting up His rulership. No, we need to look at the great powers of today, who they are and when they arose.

So, who does the world call the Big 4?

In our country its ANZ, Commonwealth bank, Wespac and NAB LOL.

(Just a bit of a light hearted joke)

At this point in time i'm not really sure, the view that sorta sounds credible in the times that we live in is that it will be the leaders of 10 block or regions across the world

eg the Americas, Europe , Asia etc

What's your personal view on this ?
The 10 kings are of the fourth kingdom.

The ten horns are ten kings who shall arise from this (fourth) kingdom. (Dan. 7: 24)

You have a couple of the great powers USA and EU. Asia is more like a middle power.

So, the first great empire to arise in modern times was the great British Empire that took in about a quarter of the world. America came from them.

Then after WW 1 came the USSR, which is now Russia and the Independant states.

After WW 2 came the EU which grew from 4 to 27 nations.

So, just those ones. They are well known by animal emblems. Do you know any?

Britain -

USA -

Russia -

EU -

BTW thank you for interacting.

Hmm it's hard to know, like the political landscapes just keep changing that it's hard to give a concrete answer.

Anytime, that's what fellowship is all about.

Ok,

So I`ll write the animals and see if you can place them next to the right great power. (Having been a teacher I know people learn best when they are involved and not just told stuff)

Leopard, eagle, lion and bear.

Bear - Russia
Britain - Lion
Eagle - US ( I personally don't believe that the bible refers to America as this)
Leopard - I'm not sure

Very good. If I could post a picture it would help. Do you know how to post pictures here?

Note the Lion had eagle wings that were broken off. This indicates that America came from the Lion great power. The lion and Eagle symbols are world renown.

Russia is the bear and well known for that.

The EU is the Leopard which was on their banners and shields in past wars.

Nah you can't post pictures on here because it takes up a lot of data or makes the forum run slower i think.

You can post links to articles though, just post the first paragraph of the article so we get a rough idea of the topic of the article and then post the link
